David composes original songs which have a reflective mood. His words and music cover a range of topics and he has been known to make the odd political statement regarding current affairs. David has been active within the Newcastle music scene for some years now. He has returned to performing after a number of years of absence due to family commitments – which he has used extensively as the subject matter for new songs.

David was very active within the Sydney music scene for many years performing as a solo artist in all manner of gigs. The response he received to the occasional original song encouraged his determination to perform his original material exclusively, and this has met with enthusiasm from audiences wherever he has performed.

David has been performing at a number of folk concerts, where his songs have been given enthusiastic support. His songs have been finalists in a number of song writing awards and have been highly commended for the manner in which he uses words to “paint a landscape of musical images”.

David has gathered a collection of his original material and has been very popular in the presentation of these songs to audiences throughout Newcastle and Sydney. He has performed at various locations throughout Newcastle.

He has a large collection of original material registered with APRA and has a number of these used by other artists throughout the years.

David recently had one of his original works placed second in a song contest and was given special commendation by the awarding judges.

David is intending to produce a collection of songs on CD soon largely as a result of the huge demand he has received for recorded material when he plays live.
