Justin Jay entered his first country music competition in Mendooran in November 2003 where he won the prestigious  Special Artists Award that lead to recording time in Tamworth and exposure all over NSW.  Since then Justin Jay has continued to win numerous awards including Parkes ACTS 2004, 1st Runner up in the 2004 Nationals, and Best Overall at the Orana Country Music Festival in Dubbo 2004.  Justin Jay’s  interest in music took a change in direction early 2005 when he won Tamworth’s CCMA’s (Capital Country Music Association) Male Vocalist of the year, and won the lead role of Marius in the largest musical ever staged in the Central West, Les Miserables. 

Justin Jay’s overall passion is simply to sing.  Justin Jay has sung rock, pop, stage musical and classical but he is most at home with country music having written a number of original pieces for which has a received recognition and awards.

A quick run down of significant achievements:

2003:  Special Artists Winner at Mendooran Country Music Festival (and placings in Gospel, Stage Musical, Open Duet, Country Duet and Australiana sections).

2004:  ACTS winner at Parkes Country Music Festival (and placings in Gospel and Yodelling)

            Runner up in the National Country Music Competition.

            Overall Winner at the Orana Country Music Festival in Dubbo.

            1st Runner-up in Outback Idol.

2005:   (Tamworth) Capital Country Music Association’s Country Male Vocalist of the year.

            (Tamworth) Capital Country Music Association’s Country Duet of the year.

2005:   Lead role of Marius in Les Miserables – Central West production.

More recently Justin has performed in various venues in Sydney, sang at open air concerts and delivered a solo piece in Sydney’s Town Hall Christmas Eve service supported by a 40 piece choir.
